The dress code at Apopka Middle School is based on enhancing the learning process and personal safety.
Students have the option of wearing a uniform which consists of khaki, blue or black pants (no jeans) and a polo style shirt with no logo.
Students wearing the uniform will receive incentives
such as early dismissal to lunch and early dismissal from school, etc.
The following rules apply to all clothing worn on AMMS:
- Shirts must have sleeves.
- A student’s midriff cannot be shown.
- Shirts need to be buttoned; all garments that have buttons need to be fastened to the neck.
- Clothing that is too tight or revealing is unacceptable.
- Shorts/skirts must be not more than one hands width above the knee.
- Pants/shorts/skirts must be worn over the hips.
- A belt or suspenders must be worn with pants/shorts/skirts that have belt loops.
- Clothing with inappropriate patches or sayings will not be allowed.
- Chains and straps longer than 12" are not allowed.
- Shoes must have a heel strap. NO flip flops, backless shoes/sandals and certain styles of boots.
- No shoes with wheels allowed on campus.
- No tattoos - permanent or temporary including writing on the body.
- No swimwear or pajamas.
- No piercing other than ears.
- Cell phones must be off and out of sight.
If the clothing is too short, tight, ragged, revealing, controversial or unsafe, it must be changed for something more suitable.
Wearing a jacket over inap¬propriate clothing does not make it acceptable.
Repeated infractions may result in administrative discipline.
ALL STUDENTS AT APOPKA MEMORIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL
MUST BE IN POSSESSION OF A SCHOOL I.D. WHILE ON CAMPUS.
I.D.’s will be issued at the be¬ginning of the school year.
