Welcome back students and parents!

Students, this will be an exciting year for AR because we have updated our program with an online edition called Accelerated Reader Renaissance Place. All tests will be taken through the online program here at school. And even better is that all quizzes produced by Renaissance Learning will be available to you. Even if we don’t own the books, you may still take a quiz if it is an AR book. The best way to find out if a title is AR is to go to the website www.arbookfind.com and then search for the title.

What is also great about this program is that you and your parents are able to access the program at home through HOME CONNECT. This will be a way to check on your progress or look in your bookshelf to see all the quizzes you have taken. There is also a quick connect to arbookfind within this site. To get to this website just log on to https://Hosted131.renlearn.com/62247/HomeConnect/Login.aspx (Your user name and password is the same AR user name and password you were given at school to take an AR test).

Parents, in Home Connect you can also setup an email account to receive emails of your child’s AR progress and test results. We will soon be sending a letter home with your child with more information. You may want to check out the website http://ar.renlearn.com/info for A Parent’s Guide to Accelerated Reader.

If you want see a list of books that we own then go online to the Orange County Public Library at http://www.ocls.info/Children/KidsConnect/book_stuff.asp When you get to the website go to catalog and click on “Check for Your School's Accelerated Reader List”. Unfortunately, due to funding, the Public Library can only update their site occasionally. But you can always check our school’s website at the Media Center link or Resources link for an updated Reading List.
