The Seahawk Achievers’ Program’s primary focus is to motivate and encourage students with emphasis on academic effort and achievement. This program will recognize and reward student excellence in academics, attendance, and conduct. Students that meet specific performance criteria will receive tangible rewards for their success.
Students will receive a white ID card the first grading period. Thereafter, students will earn a colored sticker to place on their ID badge for grading periods 1, 2, and 3 based on the following criteria:
Multi-colored Sticker 3.5 – 4.0 GPA/No Referrals
- Free admission to AMMS dances and athletic events
- Free admission to AHS athletic events with one paying adult
- Seahawk certificate signed by the Principal
- Seahawk Achiever T-Shirt with the year of graduation
- Admission to “Seahawk Achievers” Dance and Luncheon
Dates (Dances will be 5th and 6th periods):
November 13th (for the 1st nine weeks grading period)
February 5th (for the 2nd nine weeks grading period)
April 15th (for the 3rd nine weeks grading period)
Gold Sticker 3.0 – 3.49 GPA/No Referrals
- Half price to AMMS dances and athletic events
- Seahawk certificate signed by the principal
- Seahawk Achiever T-Shirt with the year of graduation
Blue Sticker 2.5 – 2.99/No Referrals
- Half price to AMMS dances
- Seahawk certificate signed by the Principal
How to Calculate your Grade Point Average (GPA)
An “A” is worth 4 points
A “B” is worth 3 points
A “C” is worth 2 points
A “D” is worth 1 point
An “F” is worth 0 points
Divide Total Points by 6 (# of classes) to calculate GPA.
Example Report Card:
3 A’s
1 B
2 C’s
3(4) + 1(3) + 2(2) = 12 + 3 + 4 = 19
19 total points divided by 6 (#of classes) = 3.166 (GPA)
